1. About these terms

These terms apply to your use of the public website at https://expatadvantage.com (the "site"), operated by ValueMart, LLC, trading as Expat Advantage ("Expat Advantage", "we", "us", "our"). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The site is currently an informational website. It has no user accounts and no paid services. If we later introduce an application, a subscription or a paid advisory service, those will be governed by their own terms presented at the point of sign-up, and those terms will take precedence over these for that service.

2. The site is informational

Everything on this site is provided for general information. It describes what Expat Advantage is, what is being built, and how to contact us. Content on the site may describe planned or intended functionality; a description of something planned is not a commitment that it will be built, or built in the form described.

3. No professional advice, and no guarantee of outcome

Nothing on this site is immigration, legal, tax, financial, investment, medical or any other form of professional advice, and nothing on it should be relied on as such. We do not advise on your circumstances, we do not act for you, and no relationship of adviser and client, or of lawyer and client, arises from your use of the site or from corresponding with us.

Immigration, tax and residency rules change frequently, differ by nationality and by individual circumstance, and are applied at the discretion of the relevant authority. We give no guarantee, promise or assurance as to any outcome, including the grant, renewal or refusal of any visa, permit or residency status, any tax treatment, or any financial result.

Before acting on anything you read here, verify it against the relevant official source and take advice from a professional qualified in the relevant jurisdiction.

4. Your responsibility

Decisions about moving to, living in, or leaving a country are yours. You are responsible for verifying information, for complying with the laws of the countries that apply to you, and for the consequences of your decisions. Where information on the site conflicts with an official source, the official source governs.

5. Accuracy and availability

We take reasonable care with what we publish, and our editorial standard is to date and source the figures we use. Even so, content may become out of date, may contain errors or omissions, and may not apply to your situation. We do not warrant that the site or its content is accurate, complete, current or fit for any particular purpose.

We may change, suspend or withdraw the site or any part of it at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

6. Intellectual property

The site and its content — including text, layout, design, graphics, logos and the Expat Advantage name and marks — are owned by ValueMart, LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law.

You may view the site, and print or download extracts for your own personal, non-commercial reference. You may not otherwise copy, republish, adapt, distribute or commercially exploit any part of it without our prior written permission, and you may not use our name, logo or marks without permission. Where you quote content, please attribute it to Expat Advantage and link to the page.

7. Prohibited use

You agree not to:

• Use the site for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its hosting or any related system
• Introduce malware, or otherwise interfere with the operation or security of the site
• Scrape, harvest or systematically extract content from the site, or place unreasonable load on it
• Misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any person or organisation when contacting us
• Reproduce our content in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or authorship that does not exist

8. Correspondence with us

You are responsible for what you send us. Do not send confidential material belonging to someone else, and do not send sensitive identity or financial documents. Ideas and feedback you send us may be used to improve the product without obligation to you; we will not publish your personal details.

9. Third-party links and services

The site may link to third-party websites, including official government sources. Those sites are not under our control. We provide links for convenience and do not endorse, and are not responsible for, their content, accuracy, availability, or their handling of your information. Your use of a third-party site is governed by that site's own terms and privacy policy.

10. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss or expense arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the site.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version number and effective date at the top of this page will change with each revision. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. We recommend you review this page when you return to the site.

14. Severability and no waiver

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
