Features

What Expat Advantage is being built to do.

This page describes intended product areas. None of it is generally available yet. Every area below carries a status label so that direction is never mistaken for a shipped feature.

Status labels used on this page

In development

Actively being worked on now.

Planned

Committed to the roadmap, not yet under construction.

Being explored

Under consideration. May change substantially or not proceed.

01

Planning & preparation

In development

The work that happens before a move is committed to: sequencing decisions, understanding what each one depends on, and putting realistic dates against them.

  • Stage-based planning that reflects how far along a move actually is
  • Dependency-aware sequencing — what must be settled before something else can start
  • Realistic duration estimates rather than best-case ones
  • A record of decisions taken, so the reasoning survives the process
02

Country guidance

In development

Country research written to a single consistent structure, so that two countries can be compared rather than merely read about. The Philippines is the first market.

  • A common structure applied to every country, enabling like-for-like comparison
  • Regional differences within a country treated separately where they matter
  • Every figure carries its source and the date it was gathered
  • Explicit statements where the underlying data is thin or contested
03

Visa & residency

Planned

Designed to help people understand which routes plausibly apply to them and keep track of the conditions and dates attached to the route they are on.

  • Reference material on visa and residency categories, by country
  • Designed to track conditions, renewal dates and required documents
  • Reminders ahead of deadlines that carry a real cost if missed
  • Signposting to official sources — never a substitute for them
04

Budgeting & financial tools

Planned

Relocation budgets fail in predictable ways: one-off costs are underestimated, recurring costs are guessed at, and the currency the money is held in is ignored.

  • Separate models for one-off relocation cost and ongoing running cost
  • Designed to compare an assumed budget against realistic local figures
  • Scenario comparison across cities or countries
  • Planning tools only — Expat Advantage does not hold, move or manage money
05

FX tracking

Planned

For anyone earning in one currency and spending in another, the exchange rate is often the single largest uncontrolled variable in the budget.

  • Designed to track the currency pairs that matter to a specific plan
  • Exposure shown against a budget rather than as an abstract rate chart
  • Historical context so a rate can be read against its own range
  • Informational only — not trading advice and not a dealing service
06

Checklists & resources

Planned

Much of a move is procedural. Those parts should be handled by a checklist so attention is left for the parts that actually require judgement.

  • Checklists scoped by country, visa route and stage of move
  • Document templates and preparation lists
  • Reference material on the recurring administrative tasks of living abroad
  • Designed to be exportable, so a plan is not trapped in one place
07

Community & creator tools

Being explored

A great deal of practical expat knowledge sits with people already doing it — including creators who answer the same questions repeatedly for an audience.

  • Tools intended to help creators and advisers reuse reliable, dated material
  • Structured contribution rather than an unmoderated forum
  • YouTube-connected creator analytics are under consideration for a later stage
  • No YouTube or Google account connection exists on this site today
08

Advisory & concierge

Being explored

Some situations are not solvable with information alone. A paid advisory and concierge tier is being considered for cases that need direct help.

  • Direct assistance for complex or time-critical situations
  • Referral to appropriately qualified local professionals where required
  • Commercial terms are not yet defined
  • Expat Advantage is not a law firm and does not provide regulated advice
A note on scope

What Expat Advantage will not do.

Expat Advantage publishes information and provides planning tools. It does not give immigration, legal, tax or financial advice, does not submit applications on anyone's behalf, and does not hold or move client money. Where a situation needs a qualified professional, the right answer is a qualified professional — and we will say so.
